Divorce changed Jessica Simpson’s perspective of life

Washington, Aug 14: Singer/actress Jessica Simpson who officially divorced former boy band star Nick Lachey about month ago, insists that she has never been happier following her divorce, because she has discovered a new perspective in life.

The ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ star said that she now feels more independent and convinced that she can now realise all of her career ambitions.

“I feel free, independent and strong. Once I realised how much I really did want from life, I took on a whole new perspective,” Contactmusic quoted Jessica as saying.

The actress, 25, split from Lachey, 32 in November (2005) after a stormy three-year marriage which was documented on MTV’s reality TV show ‘Newlyweds: Nick + Jessica.’

Jessica Simpson who is launching her own range of lingerie had recently revealed that she couldn’t wait to model her own designs - because she knows she will look great in them.

Her younger sister, 21-year-old Ashlee, became the face of Victoria’s Secrets new collection last month.

She has a new album and a new movie on the way, plus she's getting ready to co-host the Teen Choice Awards with DANE COOK, but first, JESSICA SIMPSON has a few things she wants to get off her chest!

"A naughty secret?" Jessica teases. "I have a very ... long ... tongue," a statement she emphasizes by doing her best GENE SIMMONS imitation. And from the looks of it, she just might be able to give him a run for the money!

All playfulness aside, Jessica has had to bounce back this year after a very public split from hubby NICK LACHEY, but she says she's been able to take it all in stride. "With anything in life that we go through, there are always things that are thrown in our way to try to trip our step," she notes. "But I believe in just staying steadfast."

"The thing that keeps me going," she says, "is my faith in knowing that what I'm doing is what I'm meant to be doing."

And what she's been doing is redirecting her focus on her creative endeavors. "Working on this album, I didn't really try for anything," she says. "I started recording about a year and a half ago. [The album] was supposed to come out a long time ago, but I missed my deadline and I didn't feel confident -- I was going through a tough time in my life and I wanted to take time off so I'd be able to deliver an album and give my all to the promotion behind it," she says openly. "So we put everything on hold for a little bit, and then all of a sudden, this new music started developing and I started writing from a better place in my life."

Could it be that Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo are not so hot for each other after all? Well, according to a report in this morning's Scoop, it apparently has. A report suggests that Minnillo may have gotten cold feet after Nick's over-the-top amorous expressions.

Friends of the MTV talk show host, however, insist she's relieved to have a little alone time. "She couldn't wait for Nick to go because things were getting too heavy," Jessica Simpson a friend of Minnillo told Life & Style Weekly, claiming that Lachey has brought up marriage and kids. "Vanessa says Nick's gone overboard expressing his emotions."'

Employee of the Month, the upcoming comedy featuring none other than Jessica Simpson, who People magazine thinks has one of the nicest posteriors in all of Hollywood, has been delayed until October 6th, from its intended September 15th release.

In addition to starring the former wife of Nick Lachey, Employee of the Month also highlights the comedic talents of Dane Cook and Dax Shepard, two highly competitive employees at Super Club, a gargantuan department store, who continually vie for the coveted title of Employee fo the Month.

Both have been with the company for ten years when along comes Amy (Simpson) -- leaving them something else for which to compete.
